This assignment was...challenging. I have been conditioned to look for numbers or number symbolism everywhere. However, the most challenging part of this assignment for me was finding enough light. I came home after sun down everyday I worked on this assignment, so I had to work with the artificial light in my apartment. Unfortunately, my apartment has REALLY low lighting. As a result, I got many black pictures...all of which I had to keep and move on. I understand the need for good light much better now. Manual is so much fun to shoot on a camera, at least when you have really good light to work with.
Things I learned while completing this first assignment:
It is difficult to shoot people and things without a concept.
However, it was fun to just document things.
These pictures were taken in Colorado, a place dear to my heart, and I treasure every second there.
I was able to capture moments, and I liked that.
Not to mention I got to use my totally gorgeous sisters-in-law as models by their new red barn.
I am excited to learn manual because some of my pictures didn't turn out.
Overall, I enjoyed it.
And I love my new camera.
1. I want to learn how to capture emotion and capture it well.
2. I want to have as much knowledge and experience in photography so that maybe someday, I can be a stay at home mom AND have people pay me for photography and graphic design on the side.
3. I want to be able to learn how to photograph my family and document important events in our lives.
4. I want to be proud of my photography and hang it up all over my home.
